Pitbull regulation in Cohasset
"If passed, the article would amend the town's bylaws to allow responsible residents to own pit bulls, while ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the town's residents. All pit bulls would need to be registered with the Animal Control Officer, in addition to the regular registration and licensure required for all dogs. The article states no household may have more than two pit bulls at any time, with puppies less than nine weeks old as the only exception."
This article also states that a pitbull owner must be at least 18 years of age. The dog must be muzzled when away from the private property of the owner and must be "adequately and securely" led and leashed by someone who has a clear ability to physically restrain and control the dog.
