Sharing our loss

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Polu boy with you. It seems too soon since he was young (just 3) and such a great dog. It seems unfair because he was always so good to us and we feel like he deserved a good long life, but that was not meant to be. It's tough because it was so unexpected and unexplained, but we also know that everything happens for a reason. For whatever reason, it was Polu Boy's time. He will most certainly be missed. Before we got our pitbulls, I had never had dogs in my life (Stacie). I had no idea how much the loss of one of them would affect me. You see them every day and don't think twice about them being there until they are gone and you know that they'll never be there waiting for you to come home again.

But he is still close by, which is really nice to know.

Thanks for being so good to our family - we'll miss you Polu.

Hawaii Earthquake

Tonight our thoughts and prayers are with families who's homes or lives have been affected by the earthquake that hit the islands today. We hope everyone is safe.

That was quite and experience and one that I wouldn't mind never going through again. Plans for the day, of course, were cancelled which means that we didn't get to visit Mana. Anyway - again, we just wish everyone in Hawaii the best and hope everyone and their families are okay.

Pitbull Puppy Count

This is another update on the litter from Koni's breeding. There are 13 pups all together. There are 10 that are blue and when we say blue, we mean pretty much all blue with white markings on the chest if anything. I don't think too many of them have any markings on their chest or head.

Then the other three look fawn with blue tinges in the coat and on the face (around the eyes, nose).

We don't have a count on number of females and number of males. The owner seems to think it's pretty even with maybe a slight edge on the female side. Again, when we know more or have pictures, we'll let you know.

Puppies Dropping Now

Hey - just thought you guys would want to know that pups from Koni's breeding are dropping as I type. So far the report is that Shyla is doing a great job. Three blue pups have been born so far. Two mostly blue, one with white markings on the chest. The fourth was being born as I spoke with Shyla's owner on the phone (another blue). I don't know genders, but just figured you guys would want to know. They said the pups look good so far. They're trying to move around, they're crying/whining and look strong.

When we know more, we'll post more.

Puppy information new litter

No, Koni's litter isn't here yet, but it should be any day now. But we've had such a response to the post we made about the breeding so if you're interested in a pup from this litter, don't wait too long.

Here is probable pricing for the litter. Don't forget, the female's owner will be showing and selling the pups, but we can out you in touch with them if you're interested. Look for the price to be about $700-$900.

We're looking for these pups to have good size since both sire and dam are structurally solid and good size.

Pitbull owners fighting Ontario ban

I just came across an article about pitbull owners putting together a fundraising calendar to raise money to legally fight the Ontario ban on pitbulls. One note: so many people think that Staffordshire Terriers are "better" than pitbulls and wouldn't be affected by a ban (that is a whole 'nother topic entirely). Well, in Ontario, Staffordshire Bull Terriers are also included in Ontario's ban of "pit-bull type" breeds (as is the case in many BSL legislations).

What is one lady doing to help with cause to raise money and fight this ban? An 82-year-old woman is posing nude for this calendar. Don't believe me? See the story here.

New pictures of Mana - Blue pitbull Gotti puppy

Here's our newest pictures of Mana. These were taken on October 1st. Mana is now 4 months old and has gained 14 pounds in the past month. He's looking good and is now getting used to the choker. Because he's in the Hawaii Animal Quarantine, we don't get to see him every day or take him for walks, but he still seems like he's going to be a trainable dog. I can't wait to get him home. His release date is scheduled for November 20th. So his stay in the Animal Quarantine is half over. For those of you who are new to the site and don't know Mana Loa, he is the grandson of the Notorious Juan Gotti and the direct son of Mikeland's Blue Gator.

Pictures of Shyla - Puppies due Oct. 9th

Just wanted to let you guys know that we finally went to see Shyla (the female we bred Elekoni with). She is definitely having puppies. The pups are due to arrive in about a week on October 9th. Of course, they could come 3-4 day sooner or later. Anyway, you've gotta check out the pictures we took of her this weekend. They are now up on our Breeding Page.
