808 Blue Pitbull Shirts Now Available

So we've FINALLY gotten our shirts printed and done. We had something very specific in mind which was actually a pretty complicated design as far as shirt printing goes. We had a couple of people tell us they could do it no problem. Unfortunately none of those worked out, but we finally found a printer who did what he said he could do - print the shirts, stick with his price quote, and FINISH them by the deadline.

If you're interested in purchasing a shirt, they are $20 and include shipping to anywhere in the USA (no international orders at this time please). We have Adult Small - Adult XXXL.

Here are some pictures of the front and the back of the new 808 Blue Pitbull shirt.

Bully Bash 3 - Polu Boy Tops 2008 Hall of Fame Vote

Aloha and thanks to everyone who stopped by to say, "Hello" at the Bully Bash event this weekend. We had a lot of fun and got to meet and talk with lots of great people. For us, that's what these events are all about: the DOGS (first and foremost) and being able to hang out and talk story with others who love dogs as well. It's so much fun!

One of the things that happened during the course of the evening was voting for the Hawaii Pitbull Hall of Fame. There were 15 dogs nominated and top 3 receiving the most votes would be inducted into the Hawaii Pitbull Hall of Fame at next year's Bully Bash event (scheduled for October 2009).

There were quite a few great dogs listed on the ballot. You'll see the names on the results below. Our Polu Boy was one of the nominees. Of course, we think he's a great dog, but like I said, he was among some great company on that ballot so we were quite surprised (but happy) when the results were posted. Here they are...

So thank you to everyone who voted! We were surprised, overwhelmed, and happy to see the results. One dog on that list that we'd really like to see make it in.....TUBBS!!! If you have a chance to cast a vote in 2009 (come to the Bully Bash to vote) and you're not sure who to vote for, we'd encourage you to cast your vote for Tubbs. Why? Because not only is he an amazing dog, but MANY of the dogs listed on the ballot or already in the Hall of Fame are his offspring! Hawaiian Rhino (already in) is his grandson, Big Busta has Tubbs in his pedigree, Tequila Sunrise, the only female on the ballot this year is Tubbs' daughter. If his kids, grands, and greats are in the Hall of Fame and nominated to be in the Hall of Fame, we really think that he should be in there too. JOHO (just our humble opinion)

So again - it was great meeting everyone out at the Bash!

Thanks to everyone who voted for Polu Boy!

See you on November 8th in Haleiwa!!!!

We will have shirts for sale on November 8th. We'll also be putting pictures of those shirts up here on the blog very soon. If you plan to attend the Ultimate Hawaiian Island Bully show in November though, do not buy from the website! We'll be offering special pricing at the show on November 8th at Haleiwa Elementary.

Our Pitbulls Getting Some Exercise

Here's a short bunch of video clips of Diamond and Moose getting some track time in. Diamond is training, Moose is just in it for the exercise/discipline aspects more than anything at this point.

Anyway - Enjoy...

By the way, we do plan to attend the Bully Bash 3 at the Water Park on October 25th, so if you see us there, please say, "Hello."

Also, we're definitely looking forward to the November 8th, Ultimate Hawaiian Island Bullies show at Haleiwa Elementary. That should be a ton of fun!

If anyone has a broadband wireless laptop card we can borrow, we could probably arrange to broadcast the show live vis ustream. We'll see how that goes. I'd also have to have a power source so that I can keep my laptop plugged in, and of course, there is the little detail about having wireless access at the event. Right now I don't have a card.

I wonder if a store would be willing to lend me one for the event...Hmmmm....

Hawaii Dog Attack in the News

If you're in Hawaii, you may have heard about the 2 month old baby that died because of an attack by a family pet. Of course, any time a dog attack is in the news or reported by the media, the word "pitbull" is going to be involved.

However, I was a bit surprised to hear a Hawaii Humane Society representative say that they don't believe the incident was specific to a particular breed. Watch the news clip or read the transcript at KHON2.

KHON also called us to ask if we'd like to talk with them about the dogs, but neither Allen nor I really like being in front of a camera, so we referred them to a few others who may have wanted to talk and Loretta Black of Hope Kennels is the one that made a statement for the news.  We were there, along with Albert and Rose Woods to show some support, but tried to stay out of view of the camera.  In the clip you will see Makua Alii of Hope Kennels as well as Legacy (Makua daughter of NSBP).

Anyway - go ahead and watch the news clip.
